How do laser removal work?
The laser produce short bursts of intense light that passes the top layers of your skin, without causing any damage, but is absorbed by the underlying Tattoo Pigments. This will cause the pigment itself to shatter into small particles that are then removed by the body's immune system in the following weeks and it will slowly fade away.

How many treatments do i need? And how long will it take?
This varies vastly from person to person. Alot of factors comes into play that affects the effectiveness of the treatment. Color pigment used in ink, depth of tattoo, thickness of the ink layer, age of tattoo, color of the persons skin etc etc. So its very hard if not impossible to give an exact number of treatments needed, but in general you will need 4-8 treatments on average to completely remove the pigments.
The treatment itself is fairly quick, a 5*5cm area takes about 10-15 minutes, but needs about 3weeks to fully be absorbed by the immune system before starting the next treatment.
It's during this period the tattoo will slowly fade away as the body expels the shattered pigments. So dont be alarmed if it appears like nothing has happened in the first few days.
If youre only doing a cover-up you wont need to fully remove the tattoo itself, just tone it down a few steps, so you dont need to fully remove the pigments in the skin.

Any sideeffects?
In som rare cases you can experience pigmentation changes in the skin, som redness and even blisters. But no permanent effects if the aftertreatment is properly done by the patient.

Does it hurt?
Also individual, but its not painless. Butt feels kinda like someone snapping a thin rubberband on your skin. Afterwards you may experience symptoms akin to a sunburn.
In preparation for a laser procedure, doctors recommend that non-aspirin products with paracetamol be used for minor aches and pains prior to the procedure, because aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents such as Ibuprofen can produce pronounced bruising after treatment.

How much will be removed?
Again very circumstantial, most cases you can completely remove the ink pigments from your body, in some cases there will be a light shade or dots of pigments left that cant be removed. What will always be left behind is the actual scar from the needle when the ink was inserted at the time of the tattoo.
